Common Questions

How is the number of page views (PV) reported and calculated?
The page view (PV) count is determined based on the daily reported data collected by DataKit. For billing, Truewatch calculates the charge based on the larger value between "daily resouce count, long task, error, and action data/100" and total PV count for the day. Whether you're using a SPA (Single Page Application) or an MPA (Multi-Page Application), each page visit (including refreshes or re-entries) is counted as 1 PV, ensuring a fair and consistent billing approach.
What is Real User Monitoring (RUM) in Truewatch?
RUM in Truewatch captures and analyzes real-time data on user interactions within your applications. It monitors aspects like page load times, user navigation paths, and operation response times, offering a detailed view of the user experience.
How does Truewatch RUM improve application performance?
By providing real-time analytics on user behavior and system performance, Truewatch RUM allows you to identify bottlenecks and areas needing optimization. This proactive approach helps in enhancing application performance and delivering a better user experience.
Can Truewatch RUM monitor mobile applications?
Yes, Truewatch RUM supports monitoring for Web, Android, and iOS applications. It enables you to track user interactions across different platforms, ensuring a consistent and high-quality experience for all users.
Why is billing based on Page Views rather than Sessions?
Based on user research, the average number of Page Views (PVs) per session is relatively low, making PV-based billing a fair approach for most users. Additionally, PV is a commonly used metric in front-end development for tracking page-level activity, as it is straightforward, intuitive, and easier to understand. Billing based on PVs aligns with industry practices and ensures transparency while offering a clear way to manage and optimize costs.
